Mademoiselle

Bonjour! Bienvenue sur mon blog!

Ok. I don't really speak French. I only know a few phrases like Merci Beaucoup, Je m'appelle Glacey etc. But don't get me wrong, this post is not French 101. Lol. This by the way, is the continuation of my Dollface entry. These photos were also taken the same day as the Barbie photos (yes, exhausting). It means, I had to do 2 looks for each model.

It was a fun photoshoot for the 2 models cause they were able to play dress up, just like dolls. Both girls are very stylish and fashionable. The clothes they brought were just perfect for the photoshoot. :)

I smokey-fied their eyes and pulled up their hair to show their pretty face.

I really like the green eyeshadow on Steff, don't you?
The Chictopia Style Icon, working it!

The tulle skirt, lace top and chiffon ribbon were a perfect doll combination!
Notice the lower lashes? I literally have to draw them. Very Twiggy right?
My favorite photo :)

These girls really did the job! They were just perfect for the theme.
Up next, a feature about the Ateneo College Glee Club's photoshoot for the European Tour last April - June 2011. I'll be posting some details regarding our recent victory in Europe too. So I hope you read it as well. :)

Dollface

Who doesn't know Barbie? Even the boys know this almost-perfect Icon. I distinctly remember me and my sister always asking for a new Barbie doll every Christmas. We'd always get the latest model and be so excited playing together. Well, those are my childhood memories. I think, we're too old to own one. Haha!

This shoot is sort of my tribute to my favorite childhood toy. Ave Royd loved the idea and decided that we collaborate once more. We got 2 pretty girls(who also love Barbie by the way) to play as Barbie dolls. And they perfectly fit the pegs!

Friends from the Glee Club visited us again to take a few BTS shots.

Without further ado...

I used green for Steff's eyes and the color perfectly compliments her skin tone.

Barbie is all about pretty face and.... PINK! I surely used a lot of pink hues for this shoot.
I love how their eyes pop, just like Barbie's.

You have to agree with me, they actually look like twins or sisters.

That ends the 1st part of our Doll-inspired shoot. Watch out for my next entry for the 2nd part that I'm sure you'll also love. :)

Color Block

These are my favorite photos from Raxenne's thesis (check my previous post). I really love bold colors especially in makeup. It's so beautiful to look at!

Blue gradient
My personal favorite because yellow is my favorite color. Haha! :)

Up next, my version of Barbie make-up! :)

Bristles, Pixels and Heels by Raxenne Maniquiz

I love Facebook! Facebook made it possible for me to do this project. One time, when I opened my Facebook account, I saw these alluring pictures posted by Raxenne. They were just too lovely! (Raxenne Maniquiz was my schoolmate in highschool. We were both part of the school choir but we never had the chance to talk or hang out.)

And since I was just starting to build my portfolio, I wanted to do a collaboration with her but I never had the chance to do it. Luckily, she messaged me on Facebook and asked if I can do the makeup for her school thesis. I was so overwhelmed especially after seeing the PEGs. I've never done anything like that. However, my friends in the Glee Club would always tell me to go for it.

Raxenne is a CFAD student of UST and her thesis is about colliding Fashion and Art. What a great idea right? You'll see how she was able to transform the well-known art pieces into high-fashion photos.

This project gave me the opportunity to meet people who are fashion and art aficionados. And yes, I learned so much from them as well.

(I have to say that this was the hardest set I've ever done. I have to do the makeup of the 9 models in 2 hours. Fortunately, I was able to pull it off.)

The inspiration

But of course, I have to be photographed as well for the book. :)

It was very tiring but the experience was definitely worth it! I never thought I would be able to create something like this. Thank you Raxenne! You are a very talented photographer and I know you'll be very famous someday.

It's always a joy to spend time with people who has the same passion as yours. I wish to have more projects like this! Never say never... :)

Beth and JR ♥

Here is another 1st! Don't you just love the fact that I'm doing something new every time I post an entry? Haha!

This is my 1st time to accept a Pre-nup photoshoot. One of my closest friends (Beth) in the office offered me to do her make-up for her pre-nup shoot. I was hesitant because I am afraid to screw up. But i said to myself "Wth, let's do this!". And I said yes! It was a super fun shoot! Beth and JR really make a good couple (they got married last March btw). They're fun-filled, youthful and game for everything. The theme of the shoot says it all.

My favorite photo :)

I also met new friends who were equally fun. Thank you Beth and JR for trusting me! I wish you both a bountiful married life! :)

HEAT

Hallo! Finally, a makeup post! But these photos are long overdue since they were taken about a year ago. Anyway, this photoshoot is a lot of firsts for me.
  1. 1st portfilio photoshoot
  2. 1st attempt to shoot outdoors
  3. 1st collaboration with my bestfriend photographer, Ave Royd Santiago and good friend from the Ateneo College Glee Club, Aileen Belmonte
Ave and I have been brewing this photoshoot for 2 months. We just started doing our own passion back then (Ave as a photographer and me as MUA). During one dinner out, we agreed to do a collaboration. We were so EXCITED! It was my 1st time to hear the word PEGS. Hahaha! But since then, I can't stop using that word every time I have a make-up gig/project. Anyhoo, after a few days we finally did it! But before the final photos, let me show you some of our BTS pictures.

It was an extremely hot day (thus the title)! I had to retouch Ai's makeup for so many times. And I just realized that outdoor shoots are quite difficult for a 2-man crew. Thank God for helpful friends like Chrissie, Issa and Rey (friends from Ateneo College Glee Club. We survived! Anyway, I'll stop the talking. Here are the final photos:

Don't you just love Ai's profile shots? She looks like a Brazilian model. I used brown hues for her eyes and smoky-fied it, and used nude lipstick to bring out her beautiful eyes.

She's like professional model, right?

I have to say that this has been one of the best shoots I've been. It's always fun to do it with your friends. No pressure, no pretensions. :) I was hoping that this will not be the last. And I was right! We had another collaboration and this time, with 2 models. So, watch out for it! :)
