Makeup Tutorial: Purple Smokey Eye Makeup

Hello everyone! Wow! It's already Thursday! The week is going by so fast. Anyway, as promised, here's another tutorial for all the girls who requested for this look. Well, this is a bit advance than my previous makeup tutorial but I think you an manage to pull this off.

Finally, a smokey eye look tutorial! I chose purples and pinks cause these colors look good on anyone (any skin tone, any eye color). It's like a universal eye makeup color. Also, I finally decided to use my E.L.F. Smokey Eye Set from E.L.F. Philippines. So you don't have to worry on what products I used. You can simply achieve this look with just 1 eye makeup set. :)

Before we proceed to the 1st step, here are the items you need:

1. ELF Beauty Book Smokey Eye Set
2. Matte Black Eyeshadow (Optional)
3. Kohl Pencil
4. Mascara
5. Pair of false lashes
6. Eye Brush
7. (2) Blending brush
8. Smudge Brush

If you will notice, I didn't apply my face makeup yet cause smokey eye makeup can cause a lot of fall outs. Later I'll show you when's the best time to do it. Prior to this tutorial, I already applied my eyebrow makeup.

Please refer to the shades number below during the whole tutorial.
Step 1:
Get the  travel size E.L.F.primer from the kit and apply it on your lids. This will help the eye makeup look vibrant and last longer.

Step 2:
Apply shade #5 on your lid using an eye brush, not going beyond the crease.

Step 3:
With a clean blending brush, get shade #3 and blend it on your crease to create a seamless transition between the  shades #5 and #3. Doing this will create an illusion of deeper crease.

Step 4:
Using the same eye brush in Step 2, get shade #4 and create an inverted 'C' from the middle of your crease towards your inner lid. Now you have created a gradient effect but it gets better.

Step 5:
Get your Kohl pencil (I'm using my Kajal) and line your upper lash line (don't do a wing). It doesn't have to be perfect cause you'll smudge it later on.

Step 6:
With the blending brush you used in Step 3 and a matte black eye shadow (you can use shade #6 but it's too shimmery for me), smudge the eye liner following the shape below. The matte black eyeshadown will help the kohl pencil stay in place. Plus, it's easier to blend it that way.

Step 7:
Now get the other clean blending brush and pick-up shade #5 again to blend the whole lid. Do a sweeping motion continuously, until there are no harsh lines in sight. Don't you just love how the pink eyeshadow created more dimension to the whole look?

Step 8:
Sweep the fall outs using a fan brush then proceed to the next step.

Step 9:
Do your whole face routine including your contouring. I advise that you use a highlighting concealer to avoid panda eyes. O_O And don't forget to prime your lower lash line.

Step 10:
We're almost finished! Reach out for your kohl pencil (Kohl pencils are very ideal for smokey eyes cause of the opacity) and line your water and lower lashline. If you find it a bit intimidating, you can just opt to line your water line only.

Step 11:
With a smudge brush and shade #5, smudge the lower lash line until the harsh line from the kohl pencil disappears. If you think you smudged it too far from your lower lash line, use cotton swabs to erase the excess shadow.

Step 12:
It's time to put light by applying shade #1 on your brow bone, inner corner of the eye, and middle of your lid. This will make the look pop and less heavy looking.

Step 13:
Finish the look with your mascara and pair of false eyelashes.

Since this is a smokey eye look, I decided to use pale mauve and light pink lipstick to keep the focus on the eyes. Also, I applied a lighter brow gel to soften the whole look.

I just love how sultry this look is. You can wear this on parties, night outs or any time you want to put on an edgy look.

This inverted smokey eye look can be done on all eye types even girls with mono lids. :)
